🌿 Infant Educator (birth–18 months)
Location: Sylvania Children's Center β€” Toledo, Ohio (Sylvania & Talmadge campuses) | Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time available | NAEYC Accredited | Step Up To Quality Gold Rated

Most childcare jobs sell you a paycheck. We offer something different: the chance to shape what a baby believes about the world in her first year of life β€” whether it's safe, whether people show up, whether she's understood. If that's the kind of impact you want your work to carry, keep reading.

We're not asking you to take our word for it. Sylvania Children's Center enters our 35th year in Toledo this fall, NAEYC Accredited β€” the highest standard in the country β€” and Step Up To Quality Gold Rated at both campuses. Our Standards of Excellence framework spells out exactly what Strong Contributor, Difference Maker, and Above & Beyond look like in your role, so "growing here" isn't a vague promise. It's a rubric you can read on day one.

You won't spend your first six months guessing where you stand or building your own systems from scratch. You get structured onboarding, a Mentor Educator assigned immediately, and weekly planning time that's paid β€” not something you have to find on your own time.

We also keep the actual weight of the job realistic. We hold a 1-to-4 infant ratio, well below what the state requires, so you're never stretched across more babies than you can truly know and attend to. Full-time and part-time both work here. When a child hits a milestone, you log it and share it with the family that same day through Playground and Lillio β€” not three days later from memory.

Here's what it takes: a Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and the ability to meet Ohio's licensing requirements for infant/toddler care. And here's the honest part β€” we've had a real uptick in people accepting this role and then disappearing when something else comes along. Babies build trust through consistency. So do we. If you're not ready to commit to a room, this isn't your posting. If you are, we'll match that commitment with real support.

In return: pay based on your experience and credentials, 14 paid holidays, 8 days PTO, a Monthly Health and Wellness Stipend, and real advancement inside a two-campus organization that's still growing.

Don't wait to apply β€” we're moving quickly to fill this room. (We're also hosting a hiring event at the Sylvania campus on Monday, August 24th, 6–8 PM, if you'd like to meet the team in person too.)

The first year of a child's life only happens once. If you want work that means that much β€” apply today.
