We’re looking for Preschool Teachers who bring both heart and expertise to the classroom — educators who see every child as capable, curious, and full of potential.

If you’re ready to make learning joyful and meaningful every single day, we’d love to meet you!

🌈 Who We Are

For over 30 years, Sylvania Children’s Center has been a trusted, family-centered early childhood program in Toledo, Ohio.
We’re proud to be both NAEYC-accredited and Gold Step Up to Quality rated, upholding the highest standards of early learning.

Our approach blends warmth, structure, and innovation — balancing a play-based philosophy with research-based best practices that nurture the whole child: mind, body, and heart.

✨ Your Role: Preschool Teacher

As a Preschool Teacher, you’ll create a vibrant, engaging, and developmentally rich environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired. Through purposeful play and intentional teaching, you’ll guide preschoolers on their journey of discovery — helping them grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team that celebrates creativity, communication, and continuous growth.

💼 What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement engaging, play-based lesson plans (with paid weekly planning time!)

  • Build trusting, responsive relationships with children through positive interactions and consistency

  • Foster a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, kindness, and cooperation

  • Observe, document, and celebrate each child’s progress and milestones

  • Partner with families through open, consistent communication

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and joyful classroom that encourages exploration and independence

🎓 What You Bring

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or actively pursuing)

  • Experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood setting

  • A professional presence, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset

  • Familiarity with emergent or play-based curriculum approaches (preferred)

  • Strong communication skills and a reflective, growth-minded attitude

🌟 What We Expect

  • A professional and accountable teaching approach grounded in best practices

  • Lesson plans that reflect both developmental needs and student interests

  • Timely documentation of observations, communications, and assessments

  • Willingness to collaborate, share ideas, and continuously improve

  • Respectful, consistent communication with children, families, and peers

💛 What We Offer

  • Paid weekly planning time built into your schedule

  • Collaborative co-teaching environment and classroom support

  • Paid mental health days and a workplace that values well-being

  • Paid in-service trainings and conference opportunities

  • Clear advancement paths and leadership opportunities

  • A respectful, mission-driven culture where educators are trusted, valued, and celebrated
