Job Summary:
So Sweet Lebanese & French Pastries in Toledo, OH is seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Bakery Cashier to join our team. As a Bakery Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to all bakery patrons while efficiently and accurately handling transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a warm and friendly smile, and assist them in making their purchases.
- Handle transactions efficiently and accurately, including cash, credit/debit card, and other forms of payment.
- Operate a cash register, weighing scales, and other related equipment to complete sales transactions.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and record all transactions accurately.
- Answer customer questions about bakery products, prices, ingredients, and availability.
- Keep the bakery area clean, organized, and well-stocked, and report any inventory discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with bakery staff to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed at all times.
- Upsell bakery products and promote special offers and deals to customers.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards all customers and coworkers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the bakery supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines preferred.
